Ceuta, 14 August 2026
Morocco has taken all necessary measures to prevent a new mass rush on the Spanish North African enclave of Ceuta, after rumors about possible entries into Spain have been circulating on social networks.
The Moroccan government warned on Thursday of a possible new mass rush on the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. A spokesperson for the Moroccan Interior Ministry, Rachid el Jalfi, told the newspaper El Pais: „Es wurden alle notwendigen Maßnahmen ergriffen, um jeden Versuch einer illegalen Grenzüberquerung zu verhindern und jede Person abzufangen, die daran teilzunehmen versucht." Rabat is thereby responding to circulating rumors according to which entry into Spain is currently possible.
