In the northern Italian municipality of Lanzo Torinese near Turin, a motorist deliberately drove into a group of recreational cyclists on Saturday, according to initial findings, and injured several people.
According to police, the incident occurred on a road in the small town of Lanzo Torinese in the Piedmont region, northwest of Turin. Eyewitnesses reported that there was initially an argument between the motorist and a group of amateur cyclists, which subsequently escalated into violence.
The man is said to have steered his vehicle deliberately into the group of cyclists, according to investigators. How many people were injured and how serious the injuries are was not initially known in detail. Emergency services and the Carabinieri were deployed to care for the injured and secure the area.
