The heads of state and government of NATO declared at the summit in Ankara that military aid to Ukraine in 2027 would continue at least at the previous level of 70 billion euros.

At the NATO summit in the Turkish capital Ankara, member states pledged extensive financial and military support to Ukraine. According to the summit declaration adopted by the heads of state and government, military aid for Kyiv in the coming year is to continue at least at the level of the current year. In 2026, at least 70 billion euros are earmarked for equipment, support, and training, according to the allied states.

At the summit, new arms contracts worth a total of "mehr als 50 Milliarden Dollar" were also announced. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte had previously sought a "engen Beziehung" with the US administration and publicly disagreed with controversial remarks by US President Donald Trump.
