British author Mark O'Connell has published 'Bond, Queer Bond: The Fabulous Other History of a Spy', a book that traces queer influences on the James Bond franchise from its earliest productions to the recent Daniel Craig era.
A family link to the Bond universe
O'Connell, who spoke to the Deutsche Presse-Agentur in London about his book, said he wanted to explore the artistic decisions that shaped the 007 universe. 'Ich wollte wirklich ergründen, warum bestimmte künstlerische, kreative und wegweisende Entscheidungen das Bond-Franchise zu dem gemacht haben, was es heute ist', he said, arguing that certain creative choices defined what Bond became.
