A black handbag, which according to the Drouot auction house was crafted from collagen remnants of a T-Rex dinosaur, was not auctioned off in Paris on Thursday evening.

The Drouot auction house called off the bidding the evening before because the highest bid of 150,000 euros did not reach the set reserve price of 300,000 euros. The auction house in Paris confirmed this. Drouot had previously promoted the bag as an "unparalleled luxury object."

What the bag is supposed to be made of

According to the auction house, the material for the bag came from collagen remnants of a femur bone of a T-Rex dinosaur. The bone was found 25 years ago in the US state of Montana. "The material for it was produced from collagen remnants of a femur bone of a T-Rex dinosaur, according to the auction house," it was stated.
