Talks in Moscow
North Korea's Choe Son Hui traveled to Moscow, where she held talks with Sergei Lavrov as well as with Vladimir Putin. The meeting of the foreign ministers had already taken place on Monday. According to North Korea's state agency KCNA, the meeting fell within the framework of the so-called "third strategic dialogue" between the two countries.
The focus was a joint declaration in which both governments assured each other of extensive security policy support. Pyongyang declared its "unchanging support for all domestic and foreign policy measures" by Russia aimed at "eliminating the root cause of the Ukraine conflict." Russia in turn expressed its "full support" for North Korea's efforts to defend its sovereignty against "hostile" threats.
