North Korea has reaffirmed its stance as a nuclear-armed state, declaring it does not consider itself bound by international nuclear non-proliferation agreements.

The announcement came during the 11th review conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), where North Korea’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Kim Song, accused the U.S. and other nations of undermining diplomatic efforts.

North Korea’s Defiant Stance

Kim Song asserted that North Korea’s nuclear status is irreversible, stating that external criticism would not alter its position. In remarks delivered in German, he declared: *Die Position Nordkoreas als Atommacht ändere sich nicht "durch rhetorische Behauptungen oder einseitige Wünsche von Außenstehenden"* ("North Korea’s position as a nuclear power will not change due to rhetorical claims or one-sided wishes from outsiders").
