The opinion research institute OGM has calculated, on the basis of the consumption survey by Statistics Austria, that an average household in Austria saves around 57 euros per year through the tax cut on food.
The OGM calculation applies the prevailing tax rates and consumption volumes from the Statistics Austria consumption survey and derives the annual relief from them. Per household, this yields an amount of 57 euros, made up of the lower levies on everyday food staples.
Basis of the Calculation
The analysis was produced by OGM, a Vienna-based opinion research institute, on behalf of the APA. The calculation method draws on official consumption data that reflect the average purchasing behavior of Austrian households and thus enable a realistic estimate.
