The Federal Ministry of Family Affairs confirmed to the German Press Agency on Friday that work was underway on a parental-allowance reform. A spokeswoman said: "Ja, es ist richtig, dass wir an einer Reform des Elterngeldes arbeiten." By the time the black-red coalition's budget draft is presented in early July, it also had to be clear "wohin es mit dem Elterngeld geht".
