Police in Vienna arrest five suspected drug dealers and seize around 70 kilograms of marijuana

Inside the bag was around 1.1 kilograms of marijuana. Shortly afterward, the 26-year-old met up with a 27-year-old Algerian national. Before the two could get into a taxi, they were stopped by the officers. Around 1.4 grams of cocaine, cash, and a pepper spray were also seized from the 26-year-old Libyan national. Cash was also seized from the 27-year-old Algerian national.

In a further operation, the 27-year-old Montenegrin was arrested in a residential building in the 15th district. In his apartment, officers seized around 68.9 kilograms of marijuana and around 3,000 euros in cash.

Second operation at the Kardinal-Nagl-Platz subway station

The second operation took place on May 10, 2026, at the Kardinal-Nagl-Platz subway station in Vienna's third district, Vienna-Landstraße. A 49-year-old Serbian national handed a small bag to a 28-year-old Serbian national. Both suspects were immediately arrested afterward. Initially, 152 grams of cocaine and cash were seized, and the two suspects were taken into custody.

During the subsequent apartment searches, officers found a further around 6.7 kilograms of cocaine as well as small quantities of marijuana. A total of 70 kilograms of marijuana, 6.8 kilograms of cocaine, 9,800 euros in cash, and a pepper spray seized – this was the result of the two operations.

Broken-down apartment door and ongoing investigations

During one of the apartment searches, officers noticed that the front door had been broken open. It is suspected that unknown individuals had attempted to remove the narcotics from the apartment. The investigations in this regard are ongoing, it was said.

Five suspected drug dealers have been arrested in Vienna. On the orders of the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office, all five suspects were taken to a correctional facility. The five suspects were taken into correctional facilities.

Police announced that they would continue the investigations into the broken-into apartments and the unknown perpetrators. Regarding possible connections between the two drug handovers or the groups of people involved, police made no further statements in the press release.
