Kherson/Zaporizhzhia, June 29, 2026
In the Russian-occupied parts of the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson, all districts are wholly or partially without power, according to the occupation administration, while Vladimir Putin acknowledges fuel supply problems.
The Russian occupation administration in the southern Ukrainian region of Kherson announced via Telegram that electricity supply has been fully or partially interrupted in all districts. The head of the occupation administration, Vladimir Saldo, wrote verbatim: "All districts of the Kherson region are wholly or partially without power." In the neighboring, also Russia-controlled region of Zaporizhzhia, emergency shutdowns and damage to energy facilities were also reported overnight.
The Russia-appointed governor of the Zaporizhzhia region, Yevgeny Balitsky, attributed the damage to Ukrainian attacks on the power grid. Energy providers and rescue services were working to restore supply to households as quickly as possible. These reports from the occupied territories cannot currently be independently verified.
