Reichenau, July 6, 2026

In the Neuer Spielraum of the Theater Reichenau, the dramatization of Stefan Zweig's 1927 novella "Vierundzwanzig Stunden aus dem Leben einer Frau," directed by Gordon Greenberg and Thomas Kahry, had its world premiere on Sunday afternoon.

The Festspiele Reichenau, which at the Rax primarily showcase turn-of-the-century works by authors such as Arthur Schnitzler, Joseph Roth, and Stefan Zweig, have brought another Zweig title to the stage with Sunday afternoon's premiere. The basis is the 1927 prose narrative in which an older woman makes a confession to a hotel guest who is a stranger to her. Director Gordon Greenberg, together with Thomas Kahry, has reshaped Zweig's prose text into a theatrical story.
