The Reichenau Festival presented its second production of the season on Thursday evening: Arthur Schnitzler's "Reigen" in a staging by the acting couple Alexandra Henkel and Dietmar König. Artistic director Maria Happel released colleagues from the Burgtheater for the project, including Stefanie Dvorak, Daniel Jesch, and Lukas Watzl. Therese Affolter and Stefan Jürgens also belong to the ensemble.
Setting and Cast
The performance begins with a silent procession of all participants, who ultimately stand together on stage and sing a musical setting of Schnitzler's 1880 poem "An die Geliebte." Bernhard Moshammer composed the setting; in 2023 Josh released the song "Ich gehör repariert." The line "bin ich erst repariert" forms the starting point of an evening that brings Schnitzler's cycle of love and desire to the stage.
