The Presidential Council of the National Council will address proposals for security checks for parliamentary employees on Wednesday, after a meeting between National Council President Walter Rosenkranz (FPÖ), DSN Director Sylvia Mayer, and State Secretary Jörg Leichtfried (SPÖ) revealed differing assessments.

The background to the debate are investigations by STANDARD and ORF-Report, published in April. According to these reports, ten to twenty FPÖ employees in Parliament, so-called "Pamis," have drawn attention in observations by the Directorate for State Security and Intelligence (DSN). The 2025 report on the protection of the constitution states that four former members of the Identitarian Movement Austria (IBÖ) are active as parliamentary employees.
