Pressler, who hails from Lower Austria, was in top form during the heats and ran into the semifinal with the fastest time of all participants. As a result, she is one of the favorites in the title race over the demanding distance. Dlauhy, also from Lower Austria, also safely qualified for the semifinal, without quite reaching her absolute best time.
