Thun, June 04, 2026
Swiss champions FC Thun have signed Gian-Luca Privitelli (48) as their new head coach, who will succeed Mauro Lustrinelli from the 2026/27 season.
Swiss football champions FC Thun announced on Thursday the signing of Gian-Luca Privitelli as their new head coach. The 48-year-old from the canton of Aargau will take up his post on July 1, 2026, and has signed a three-year contract. He succeeds Mauro Lustrinelli, who is leaving Thun for the Bundesliga after four years.
Privitelli is no stranger to Thun. From 2018 to 2021, he coached the club's U-21 and U-18 teams, familiarizing himself with the club's structures, values, and playing philosophy. This experience was particularly important to the champions' management when arranging the successor to the championship-winning coach.
