Union Berlin has secured Mauro Lustrinelli as their new head coach, with the 50-year-old signing a contract until 2028 to bring stability to the club.

Mauro Lustrinelli, the championship-winning coach from FC Thun, has been appointed as the new head coach of Union Berlin. The 50-year-old has signed a contract that will keep him at the club until 2028, according to official announcements.

Lustrinelli's appointment comes after Union Berlin struggled to find a long-term successor for Urs Fischer, who left the club in November 2023. The club has seen several coaches come and go in a short period, including Nenad Bjelica, Bo Svensson, and Steffen Baumgart, none of whom lasted more than a year.
