Bonn, 10 June 2026
Before the Bonn Regional Court, the Hamburg textile retailer Pure Fashion Agency on Wednesday demanded around 464 million euros from the federal government in oral proceedings, citing an agreement with Jens Spahn (CDU) from March 2020.
What the case is about
At the center of the proceedings, case number 1 O 213/25, is — according to the court — solely the legal question of whether a purchase contract for protective masks was concluded between Pure Fashion and the ministry. The plaintiff is asserting claims of 287 million euros plus interest, which according to her own figures add up to a total of around 464 million euros. Attorney Dennis Geissler said his client had already offered a settlement of 175 million euros a year ago, but received no response.
