The Russian politician and Putin critic Boris Nadeschdin has arrived in Paris after temporary detention, having previously left Russia.
The politician Boris Nadeschdin, who had emerged in Russia as a critic of Vladimir Putin, has arrived in Paris after temporary detention. His entry into the French capital took place on Sunday, as several media outlets reported in agreement. The Eiffel Tower welcomed the prominent guest, who had come under political pressure in Russia.
The background to the detention was Nadeschdin's classification as a so-called "Foreign Agent" by Russian authorities. This classification followed the distribution of a video that contained a photo of the deceased Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny. Navalny had died in February 2024 in a Russian penal colony, a death that was internationally criticized as politically motivated.
