According to reports by the news magazine Spiegel and the ARD program Report Mainz, a delegation of European states will travel to Rwanda next week to discuss the establishment of so-called Return Hubs.
Return Hubs are facilities in third countries where rejected asylum seekers are to be housed and from where they will be returned to their countries of origin. The concept has been discussed for months in several European capitals, without any concrete agreements being reached so far. The trip now apparently aims to launch a new round of negotiations.
As the news magazine Spiegel and the ARD television program Report Mainz reported on Friday, a delegation of European countries is to travel to Rwanda next week to discuss so-called Return Hubs in the African country.
