Außervillgraten, 26 June 2026
In East Tyrol, a so-called risk wolf was shot on Friday after it had been identified as the perpetrator of sheep kills in Außervillgraten.
As the State of Tyrol announced in a press release, the culling took place several weeks after a corresponding decree by the ÖVP/SPÖ state government. „Dies teilte das Land in einer Aussendung mit", the report distributed via the APA agency stated. The decree had been issued on 22 May following sheep kills in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings in Außervillgraten. „Diese war am 22. Mai nach Schafsrissen in unmittelbarer Nähe zu Wohngebäuden in Außervillgraten erlassen worden", according to the authorities.
