Following the discovery of at least 13 dead sheep in an alpine pasture area in Obertilliach in the district of Lienz, the State of Tyrol has issued a shooting ordinance for a wolf suspected to be in the area.

At the end of June, a total of ten dead sheep were found in an alpine pasture area within the municipality of Obertilliach, and more than 40 animals were reported missing in total. According to the State of Tyrol, during a further assessment the number of dead sheep then increased from three to ten, and the number of missing animals rose from 15 to over 40. A second investigation followed on 24 June, in which the responsible official veterinary officer confirmed the discovery of a total of 13 dead sheep.
