How the crime unfolded

While one of the two perpetrators held the fallen man down on the ground, the second perpetrator stole his wallet from his jacket pocket. The two unknown men then fled in an unknown direction.

According to the police description, the two suspects are a duo who acted together. The Vienna Police have issued a public appeal in which they show photographs of the two unknown men.

„Hinweise – auch anonym – nimmt das Landeskriminalamt Wien, Außenstelle Süd, unter der Telefonnummer 01/31310-57800 entgegen", the investigators announced. The police also broadcast the appeal via the TV live stream OE24.

The mobility-impaired man received outpatient treatment after the crime. According to the investigators, there was no threat to his life. The exact time of the crime and the amount of cash stolen have not been made public so far.

The case has now been taken over by the State Criminal Police Office Vienna, South Branch. Detectives are analysing evidence at the crime scene and reviewing footage from the surrounding area. Local residents are also being questioned as potential witnesses.
