Rome, 28 May 2026

The organizers of Rome Pride have excluded Keshet Italia, Italy's only Jewish LGBTQ+ organization, from participating with its own float in the upcoming parade, citing the group's stance on the war in Gaza.

The decision, confirmed by both parties, has ignited a fierce debate about the boundaries of political speech within the Pride movement. The parade is scheduled to take place in the Italian capital on June 20, 2026.

In a statement, the Rome Pride organizers declared their position on what they termed the "ongoing genocide in Gaza by the State of Israel" is unequivocal. They argued that while the parade is open to all individuals who share the values of the movement, an official float requires endorsement of the event's political platform.
