RTL plans the longest seasons of "Let's Dance" and Jungle Camp for 2027

Anniversary and Expansion

The Jungle Camp, officially titled "Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!", has been on the air since 2004. Now the show is set to be broadcast in the new season "mit der längsten Staffel ever," as RTL promised. The production traditionally takes place in Australia and is one of the broadcaster's highest-reaching programs.

Beyond the shows, RTL announced "weitere Primetime-Projekte" for RTL and Vox. Details on the individual formats initially remained undisclosed. The broadcaster also stated that food expert Sebastian Lege would henceforth work "exklusiv sowie sender- und plattformübergreifend" for the broadcasting group. Lege would "exklusiv für die Sendergruppe vor der Kamera" stehen, it was stated.

Further Plans at Vox and RTL

His Vox format "Lege kommt auf den Geschmack," which has been running since 2023, will be continued. Lege is therefore expected to appear regularly on Vox going forward. The broadcaster described the agreement as part of a broader programming offensive for the coming year.

As a new series highlight, RTL presented the format "Goethe vs." The broadcaster's announcement stated: "Die Serie verbindet historische Figuren und Ereignisse mit modernem Humor, temporeichen Dialogen und einer augenzwinkernden Sicht auf das Leben der beiden deutschen Literaturikonen." With this, the broadcaster takes on the lives of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schiller in a comedy series.

Goethe and Schiller as a New Series

For the lead roles in the new series, RTL announced that Moritz Bleibtreu and David Kross are among those slated. Musician Gil Ofarim is also set to take on a role. Details on the remaining characters and the planned broadcast date were not initially provided. According to RTL, the production is intended as a tribute to two central figures of German literary history.

Programming Strategy in the Competitive Landscape

With the expansion of its entertainment offering, RTL is responding to ongoing competition in the German TV market. ZDF has most recently also drawn attention with extensive programming offensives.
