Nestlé shares slipped noticeably into the red on Monday after Russia threatened forced administration of the Swiss food group's local business.

The background is a dispute with logistics partner KS Logistika. According to reports, Russia accuses the company of violations of local regulations and is considering placing business operations under state administration. Such a step would mark another move in the tightening control of foreign companies in Russia since the attack on Ukraine.

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Nestlé announced the sale of its Russian activities, but later backtracked and merely stopped distributing certain brands. According to its own statements, the Russia business was reduced to "non-essential activities" and later placed under local leadership. Ongoing operations have since continued under the name Nestlé Russia.
