During a massive Russian attack on Ukraine overnight into Wednesday, a Russian CH-101 cruise missile entered Polish airspace, prompting Polish and allied fighter jets to be scrambled.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated on the platform X that the cruise missile had entered Polish territory during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine and had violated NATO airspace. "Overnight, during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile entered Poland and violated NATO airspace," Sybiha wrote. The exact flight path of the object and possible damage on the ground were initially the subject of ongoing investigations.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed the incident and announced a swift investigation. However, he did not want to anticipate the investigation results. According to information from Warsaw, the aerial object was located in the eastern Lublin Voivodeship; at that time, no immediate damage to infrastructure or persons had been reported. The Polish Air Force, together with allies, had scrambled fighter jets to secure the airspace.
