According to Ukrainian information, the attacks were directed, among other things, against energy infrastructure and civilian areas, including the Lviv region. President Volodymyr Zelensky had repeatedly pointed out the danger that Russian missiles could graze the airspace of neighboring NATO states when approaching targets in western Ukraine.

Sybiha pointed to the need for additional Western air defense systems to prevent future incidents of this kind. Zelensky had repeatedly demanded faster deliveries of Patriot and SAMP/T systems in recent weeks.
