Zaporizhzhia, 02 August 2026
A Russian strike on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia has killed and injured civilians, according to local authorities, as the broader war effort along the front lines remains deadlocked.
Iwan Fedorow, the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, reported fatalities and injuries following the Russian attack on the city, though he did not provide specific figures in the initial statement. The strike hit residential areas, damaging buildings and prompting emergency response teams to be deployed across multiple districts.
The attack came as Ukraine continues to strike deep into Russian territory with long-range drones. According to reporting cited by the APA news agency, Ukrainian forces have been targeting the Russian oil industry, arms factories, and other strategically important infrastructure in an effort to impede Moscow's war effort. „Die Ukraine greift ihrerseits die russische Ölindustrie, Rüstungswerke und wichtige Infrastruktur mit Langstreckendrohnen an, um Moskaus Kriegsführung zu erschweren," the report stated.
