The Vorarlberg-based media group Russmedia is acquiring 77 percent of the Tyrolean Moser Holding, thereby creating a joint media group in Western Austria, which will also include the Tiroler Tageszeitung in the future.

As the future partners announced on Wednesday via press release, the owners of the Tyrolean Moser Holding are contributing their shares to a joint media group with the Vorarlberg-based company Russmedia. The Moser Holding publishes the Tiroler Tageszeitung, among other publications. Russmedia is the publisher of the Vorarlberger Nachrichten. The plan is subject to cartel approval.

Russmedia will thus hold 77 percent of the joint media group. The founding Moser family, which previously held 75.01 percent of Moser Holding through JS Moser Medienholding GmbH, will completely withdraw from the merger and sell all its shares. Bank für Tirol und Vorarlberg (BTV), which previously held a 24.99 percent stake in Moser Holding, is contributing its stake to the new joint holding company and will hold 23 percent there in the future.
