US actress Sadie Sink has expressed her annoyance about phone use during and after theater performances in an interview with the US magazine "Nylon."

Sink's Frustration Over Screens in the Auditorium

Sink, who became known for her role as the red-haired Max in the Netflix series "Stranger Things," described a specific situation at London's West End. After the dramatic end of a play, the faces of many audience members suddenly became visible because they were turning on their phones. "Die Lichter gehen aus, und dann sehe ich plötzlich all diese Gesichter im Publikum, weil jeder sein Handy einschaltet," said the 24-year-old.

The actress was particularly pointed when it came to visible recording devices in the auditorium: "Ich bin total wütend, wenn ich im Publikum drei iPhones sehe". At the same time, she acknowledged that she herself had previously watched many illegal video recordings of plays, which had "so sehr inspiriert" her. Today, however, she views the impact of such recordings more critically.
