Spanish major bank Santander presented its quarterly results on Wednesday in Madrid, exceeding analyst expectations while Group CEO Ana Botín reaffirmed the 2028 profit target.

In the second quarter of 2026, Santander increased total revenues by nine percent to €15.7 billion, the institution announced on Wednesday in Madrid. Net profit climbed by three percent to around €3.5 billion, according to the bank. Spain's largest bank Santander stayed on course for higher full-year profit in the second quarter, thanks to higher interest income and other revenues. The figures it presented consistently beat the average expectations of analysts.
