Severe storms on the afternoon of July 14 caused flooding, blocked roads, and approximately 65 operation sites in the Wiener Neustadt district; 15 volunteer fire departments remain in continuous operation.

The heavy rainfall and gusty winds hit the northern area of the Wiener Neustadt district particularly hard on the afternoon of July 14. Numerous roads, including the A2 South Motorway, were flooded according to operation reports. The volunteer fire departments also had to deploy in Sollenau, Wöllersdorf-Steinabrückl, Eggendorf, and on the Hohe Wand.

For the emergency services, this meant a genuine marathon of operations. By late afternoon, 65 operations had come in within a very short time. According to the fire departments, these consisted predominantly of flooded basements and garages, blocked roads, and downed trees.
