Boca Chica, Texas, September 28, 2026

The U.S. space company SpaceX launched its Starship rocket for the 14th time on September 28, 2026, successfully completing, according to its own statements, a full orbital mission for the first time.

Preparation and Launch

The flight began in the morning local time at the Starbase spaceport in Boca Chica, Texas. As with the previous suborbital tests, the SpaceX launch director conducted a so-called "Go/No-Go" poll with the control rooms about fifty minutes before liftoff to ensure that the rocket could be fueled. The procedure followed the protocols of earlier test flights, in which the rocket had previously failed to reach the speed required for a full orbit around Earth.
