Among the applicants, people from Colombia form by far the largest group, at 25.9 percent. They are followed by Moroccans at 13.3 percent, Venezuelans at 11.8 percent, and Peruvians at 8.8 percent. These four countries of origin together account for more than half of all applications received.
Demographics and Age Structure
The demographic composition of the applicants also shows that eight out of ten people were under the age of 45. Men made up the majority at 57 percent compared to women. The program thus primarily reflects the influx of people of working age who have been living and working in the country for years.
