The San Antonio Spurs have won Game 3 of the NBA Finals in New York against the Knicks 115:111, cutting the best-of-seven series to 1:2.
The Texans prevailed on Monday evening at Madison Square Garden and prevented a 0:3 deficit in the final series. Such a shortfall has never been overcome by any team in any round of NBA playoff history. After two home losses to open the series, the Spurs struck back on the road.
The standout performer for the visitors was once again Victor Wembanyama. The French star posted 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, making him the defining player of the game. For the Knicks, Jalen Brunson also scored 32 points but finished with three fewer rebounds than the Spurs' center.
However, the Spurs also squandered a 12-point lead during the course of the game. The Knicks themselves led by as many as seven points at one stage before the visitors seized control again. The game therefore remained tense until the final second.
