The nine federal states have agreed on a common reform position in healthcare and are demanding, among other things, better conditions for the office-based specialist sector, while the federal government has so far not substantively responded to the demands.

State Demands in Detail

At the heart of the states' position is the desire for better care in the office-based specialist sector, which, according to the states, suffers from structural deficits and supply bottlenecks. This care is the responsibility of social insurance, whose structures the states consider to be in need of reform. In addition, the states are demanding a higher financial contribution from the federal government and social insurance to the hospitals for which they are themselves responsible.
