Vienna, Austria — May 12, 2026 Vienna mafia murder suspect arrested in Italy over 2018 clan shooting Italian authorities have arrested a 33-year-old man suspected of participating in the December 2018 murder of a Montenegrin national in Vienna's city center, a case linked to violent clashes between rival organized crime groups.
Investigation and Arrest
The suspect, identified as Mili B., allegedly shot and killed 32-year-old Vladimir R. at the intersection of Lugeck and Wollzeile in Vienna's inner district, according to multiple corroborated sources. A 23-year-old companion of the victim sustained life-threatening injuries in the attack.
Andreas Holzer, director of Austria's Federal Criminal Police Office (Bundeskriminalamt), credited international cooperation for the arrest. "Particularly the close collaboration between the investigative group 'AG ACHILLES,' the criminal investigation unit of the Federal Criminal Police Office, and our international partner agencies was decisive for this investigative success," Holzer said in a statement.
