Oceanwide Expeditions, the ship’s operator, has not disclosed the vessel’s current location or itinerary, but previous reports indicate it had recently docked in Cape Verde and Argentina. The company emphasized that medical protocols were being followed and that the affected crew were receiving care.

The WHO, while monitoring the situation, has not recommended any travel restrictions. Ann Lindstrand, a WHO official, reiterated that hantavirus outbreaks are typically contained and rarely spread between humans. "This is not a situation that warrants panic," she stated.
