Suspects in Adlershof case resist analysis of seized devices

According to DPA information, the suspects are two men and two women. The four accused, aged 28, 31, 35, and 36, are charged with anti-constitutional sabotage. In March, there was a large-scale raid in which police officers searched 17 apartments and other premises in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, and Kyritz in Brandenburg.

Among other things, mobile phones and devices were seized that can be used to detect cameras, bugs, and microphones. The accused are now taking action against this seizure. They are now taking action against a large raid in March, according to investigative sources.

Seized Devices at the Center of the Proceedings

As a spokesperson for the Berlin Prosecutor General's Office explained, the accused are explicitly resisting the analysis of the seized devices. If their objection to the seizure of evidence is successful, this would result in the items having to be handed back and potentially not being usable as evidence.

The Prosecutor General's Office confirmed the ongoing proceedings upon request. Investigators see significant progress in the Adlershof case as well as in a second proceeding. Also in the second major case, the arson attack in January in southwest Berlin, the Federal Criminal Police Office has now identified concrete suspects, according to "Welt am Sonntag."

Second Case: Lichterfelde and Longest Power Outage Since 1945

In two proceedings regarding attacks on Berlin's power supply, investigative breakthroughs are emerging according to information from "Welt am Sonntag." The arson attack on January 3, 2026, on a cable bridge in Berlin-Lichterfelde triggered the longest power outage in the city since the end of the war.

Around 100,000 people sat without electricity and heating in freezing cold, in some cases for five days. Investigators are now examining whether there are connections between the two acts.

Possible Connections Between the Two Acts

Both the attack on the Adlershof technology park and the attack in Lichterfelde are attacks on critical infrastructure. The outcome of the suspects' objection proceedings is therefore likely to be a key factor in determining how solid the evidence gathered so far is.

The Prosecutor General's Office initially did not comment on the exact status of the analysis or on possible dates for the filing of charges. Observers expect that the legal dispute over the raid and the seized evidence will continue for several more weeks.
