Paris, 06 August 2026

German divers Lena Hentschel and Jette Müller have won the bronze medal in the 3-metre synchronised springboard event at the Swimming European Championships in Paris.

Hentschel and Müller only had to concede defeat on Wednesday evening in the French capital to the triumphant Italian duo Chiara Pellacani and Elisa Pizzini, as well as the Ukrainian pair Xenia Bochek and Diana Karnafel. The 25-year-old Hentschel and the three years younger Müller thus secured a podium place and delivered a positive surprise from a German perspective.

Initial situation and expectations

The initial situation ahead of the final had been open from a German perspective. In the preceding competitions of the season, changing line-ups and injuries had repeatedly posed challenges for the coaching team. The fact that Hentschel and Müller nevertheless stayed within striking distance of the established top pairs was rated by observers as a signal for the rest of the season.
