TeamViewer stays in revenue decline but holds annual forecast

When presenting the half-year figures, TeamViewer CEO Oliver Steil said: „Mit diesem Rückenwind sind wir auf gutem Weg, im zweiten Halbjahr eine Wachstumsbeschleunigung zu erreichen, und bestätigen unsere Prognose für das Gesamtjahr." The group is targeting currency-adjusted revenue for the current year of at least the prior-year level or up to 3 percent above it — i.e., growth of a maximum of three percent.

Steil confirms annual forecast

The company is therefore also trailing the prior year in the first half. After six months, a currency-adjusted decline of nearly one percent is on the books. Due to missing US orders, TeamViewer had partly scaled back its targets for 2026 last autumn.

In talks with journalists, Steil stressed further positive signals. „Die Kundenabwanderung liegt auf dem niedrigsten Niveau seit der Akquisition von 1E", he said. „Darüber hinaus stabilisiere sich das Geschäft mit kleineren und mittleren Unternehmen." In addition, several major customers had extended their contracts. „Es gehe aber alles in die richtige Richtung", Steil added.

ServiceNow partnership as beacon of hope

Management is placing great hope in the strategic partnership with the US software service provider ServiceNow, which primarily offers the improvement of business processes for companies, including IT, customer service, and human resources. „Darauf haben wir lange hingearbeitet", Steil said. Teamviewer products are now on ServiceNow's price list and are being actively sold to its customers. Strategically, Steil sees this as „einen großen Wurf, der sich über die Zeit auszahlen werde".

Since the acquisition of software company 1E, TeamViewer has become more dependent on the US market. 1E offers programs that detect IT problems early and fix them automatically, and primarily supplies US government agencies or companies that work for government entities. Steil is counting on a turnaround in business with larger enterprise customers — the Enterprise segment from the 1E acquisition — which had previously lost many customers. The product bundle TeamViewer One is also intended to give a boost among the more lucrative customers.

US market dependency through 1E

The group is hoping for additional momentum from artificial intelligence. „Die Nutzung der Kunden von Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) entwickle sich sehr gut. Der Konzern fange nun auch an, das zunehmend zu Geld zu machen", Steil said. „Auf Guidance-Seite sind wir genauso im Plan, wie wir es brauchen." The stock pared back its initially heavy losses and was last trading close to the previous day's level; over the course of the year, the price has thus lost roughly 5 percent.

Analysts divided

The stock is viewed differently on the market: Deutsche Bank AG rated TeamViewer „Hold" on 07.05.26, Barclays Capital „Equal Weight" on the same day. DZ BANK voted „Buy" on 06.05.26, while Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said „Neutral" on 18.05.26. The company listed on the SDAX thus remains a case of mixed signals among analysts as well.
