Grünheide, 25 June 2026
Tesla has announced that it will hire an additional 1,000 employees at its Grünheide site near Berlin and increase production to 7,500 vehicles per week starting in October.
Hiring push at the site
Tesla is significantly expanding its workforce at its only European car plant. As the US electric car manufacturer Tesla announced at a company meeting, a further 1,000 employees are to be hired. In April, Tesla had already announced the hiring of 1,000 new employees. The additional jobs now announced go beyond the original plan.
As a company spokesperson told the German Press Agency, around 700 new employees have already been hired. According to the company, the ongoing recruitment will extend beyond the month of July. In the course of the year, around 500 temporary workers are also to be taken on and converted into permanent positions.
