The regions between Venice and Ancona, as well as popular holiday destinations such as Ravenna, Rimini, and Roseto degli Abruzzi, were particularly affected. In the affected municipalities, toppled trees, damaged buildings, and devastated beach facilities were reported.

According to initial information, no serious injuries were reported. Rescue services were deployed to clear roads and secure damaged infrastructure. The full extent of the destruction is still being assessed.

Meteorologists had already warned in advance of an exceptionally dangerous weather situation and issued the highest storm warning level for parts of Italy. Hail and wind: extreme values

Mainly damaged were cars, roofs, and solar systems, in addition to losses for beach operators and the tourism industry along the already heavily frequented Adriatic coast.

Residents report devastation that occurred within minutes. Within a very short time, dark clouds gathered, and then huge chunks of hail pelted cars and terraces. The cleanup work is expected to take several days.

The Italian authorities announced that they would document the exact damage and prepare aid measures for affected municipalities. The question of to what extent the outbreak will be classified as an extreme weather event under insurance law also remains open.
