A 54-year-old man from the Oberwart district was driving a transporter along the L156 on Wednesday, traveling from Moosbrunn toward Trumau, when the vehicle veered off the road to the right and crashed into a windbreak, seriously injuring two occupants.
The accident occurred on Wednesday on the L156 provincial road between Moosbrunn and Trumau in Lower Austria. According to the initial findings, the 54-year-old driver from the Oberwart district was travelling alone in the transporter when, for reasons that remain unclear, the vehicle veered off the road to the right.
The transporter then crashed head-on into the adjacent windbreak, a row of trees that protects agricultural fields or roads from the wind. The force of the impact was considerable; both occupants, the 54-year-old driver and a 59-year-old passenger, sustained serious injuries.
