The trial against a couple of managers and two former executives of a nursing home in Langelsheim, in the Harz district, accused of mistreatment, grievous bodily harm, kidnapping in particularly serious cases, and aggravated fraud against the care system, began on Thursday before the Braunschweig Regional Court.
According to the indictment from the Braunschweig Public Prosecutor's Office, the alleged offenses occurred between October 2017 and September 2020 in the facility located in the Wolfshagen district of Langelsheim, which had 68 places. The defendants are a married couple who managed the facility, aged 60 and 63 respectively, a former home manager aged 51, and a former nursing service manager aged 59, accused of complicity in the offenses in 14 cases.
