On Tuesday, a trial against a 28-year-old man began at the Regional Court of St. Pölten. The prosecution accuses him of an attack on his then-partner.
The defendant must answer for a serious act of violence against his former partner. As the prosecution set out, the incident took place at what was then the couple's shared residence. During the attack, the 28-year-old is said to have inflicted massive force on the woman, causing her to sustain serious injuries that required medical treatment.
At the start of the trial on Tuesday, initial witness statements were heard, according to APA. Among those questioned were also emergency responders who had been alerted immediately after the offense. The prosecution presented the facts based on forensic traces and statements; the defense counsel noted that his client would address several of the allegations.
