Donald Trump once again expressed that he is "disappointed with Germany" during a meeting with Mark Rutte at the White House, while Rutte took the German government in defense and pointed to increased defense spending.
During their joint appearance on Wednesday in Washington, Trump repeated his criticism of several European allies. He once again named Germany, Italy, France, Great Britain, and Spain in particular as countries that had provided the United States with too little or no support in the war against Iran. "Give us a little nudge, give us a little kiss," Trump said, referring to his request at the time to Berlin. "But they said no." At the same time, he reaffirmed his threat not to defend these countries in a serious conflict.
