The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has expressed doubts about granting a license that would allow the export of Patriot missiles to Ukraine, amid the diplomatic efforts that Kyiv is carrying out to expedite new arms deliveries.

The issue of Patriot missiles is once again at the center of the relationship between Washington and Kyiv. According to sources consulted, Trump has conveyed reservations about approving the export license, a procedure essential for Ukraine to receive new air defense systems.

Ukraine has intensified in recent weeks its diplomatic offensive to obtain more Patriots, a system that Ukrainian authorities consider key to protecting its cities and energy infrastructure against Russian attacks. The pressure on Washington has resulted in multiple high-level contacts between representatives of both countries.
