Trump votes early in US congressional election

Trump thus once again linked his early vote to his political dispute over the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. His reference to the election at that time formed a central part of his public remarks.

For the upcoming congressional election, the early vote mainly matters in terms of timing. Ordinarily, many US citizens only cast their votes in the weeks immediately before the election date.

Voting ahead of the election date

The available information does not specify a particular day on which Trump intended to go to the polls later. The confirmed information also contains no further details about the further course of his election campaign in Florida.

Regardless of the timing of his own vote, Trump remains in conflict with his account of the 2020 election. The available facts again confirmed that Biden had won the election.

His wife Melania was present during the visit to the polling places. Trump was therefore accompanied when he cast his vote and subsequently made his well-known statement about the 2020 election.

Political significance of the appearance

The news marks a political appearance a few weeks before the congressional election. It links the timing of the vote with Trump's continued refusal to unequivocally acknowledge the election outcome at the time.
