A small aircraft carrying a pilot and eleven recreational skydivers crashed on Sunday near the Butler Memorial Airport in the U.S. state of Missouri, killing all twelve people on board, authorities said.

As the highway police reported on the platform X, the plane crashed on Sunday near the airport in Butler, Missouri, roughly 100 kilometers south of Kansas City. The cause of the disaster was initially unclear.
According to the disaster management agency, the pilot and eleven recreational skydivers were killed in the crash. It reportedly went down late in the morning (local time 11:35 a.m.) shortly after takeoff. According to the broadcaster Fox4, the plane had taken off shortly before and then turned around before crashing near a road not far from the airport. The engine then began to sputter, the plane went down nose-first and caught fire.
